THz Imaging

A research associate (f/m/d)

(full time, salary scale 13 TV-L)

limited to 3 years with potential of contract extension. The duration of employment depends on the provisions of the Science Time Contract Act.

Your tasks:
We are looking for researchers who are interested in the development of novel imaging systems in the terahertz (THz) frequency range. Main tasks are:

  • Development, characterization and optimization of an innovative THz imaging setup for 3D material analysis,

  • Development and analysis of synthetic imaging scenarios based on MIMO arrays with planar integrated semiconductors,

  • Application evaluation of the developed THz imaging system in the field of automotive production engineering



Successful candidates will be given the opportunity to work towards their dissertation (PhD). Assistance with duties within the institute is expected.

Your profile:

Applicants must be graduated in Electrical Engineering, Physics or similar (Master or Diploma) with very good or excellent grade. We expect solid English skills.
A profound knowledge in one of the following fields is desired: Semiconductor technology, solid state physics, optoelectronics, laser technology, high frequency technology or terahertz technology. Experimental skills as well as in-depth programming experience are expected.

Your tasks:
We are looking for researchers who are interested in the development of image processing and data analysis algorithms in the terahertz (THz) frequency range. Main tasks are:

  • Development, analysis and optimization of synthetic 3D image processing algorithms in the THz range,

  • Increase detectability using superresolution imaging approaches,

  • Development of automatic recognition algorithms,

  • Application evaluation on measurements of structural components in the field of automotive production engineering



Successful candidates will be given the opportunity to work towards their dissertation (PhD). Assistance with duties within the institute is expected.

Your profil:

Applicants must be graduated in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics or similar (Master or Diploma) with very good or excellent grade. We expect solid English skills.
